I have always admired the rugged fishermen who brave the oceans on a daily basis. The beauty of the waters just off Perdido Key, Florida beckons generations of these hardy souls to cast their nets and receive the bounties of the sea.
This painting was a gift to my daughter, Michelle, who's name appears on the stern of the boat in the foreground. Perdido Key is her favorite place to visit.
This is a wonderful painting. I like works with boats in them. probably because I enjoy being on boats. The roughness of the water in this one shows how the pilot is successfully keeping the boat safe, yet it may still be on the precipice of having a really bad time. It speaks to me of a mild struggle and at the same time, excitement.
I totally love this! It’s so full of life and the colors are amazing.
Beautiful! The colours make this painting so pretty and inviting. You've also captured a hint of the vulnerability, struggle and danger these seafarers have to endure. What a great combination. Another vote coming your way!
Phenomenal work!
Beautiful painting! The sea is so good. but the boat I like the most, especially because my daughter’s name is also Michelle!
Congratulations! you are a worthy winner.
Congrats on the win!
Thanks to everyone that voted for my Perdido Bay painting in the "Water Works" Event. I appreciate all the kind comments. I have never met a blank canvas that I didn't like! :-)
